Agriculture Minister, Antonio Andrade said, to leave the meeting of the Foreign Trade Chamber (CAMEX) Thursday (3/10), that Brazil will send a letter to the U.S. government expressing outrage at the suspension of payment of resources relating to the agreement signed on the occasion of the victory in the Brazilian cotton dispute in the World Trade Organization (WTO).

Andrade said it will set up a ministerial working group that will examine possible retaliation to the country for the breach of the agreement. The hit was a monthly payment of $ 12.275 million to a fund for the cotton sector, but in September the value did not exceed U.S. $ 4,762,000.

The minister explained that the working group has until November 30, and the period, the Brazilian government will wait for the approval of the Budget of the U.S. to see if the resources to pay for Brazilian farmers will be assured. Asked what would be possible retaliations, Andrade said, "Let's not talk of retaliation now, we do not want anyone to retaliate."

Brazil's victory in the WTO is due to the fact that the subsidies given to cotton growers in the U.S. by the government of the country caused unfair competition.
