U.S. stocks outperform the market forecasts

Storage soybeans and corn is less than 2012, according to the USDA

The U.S. supplies of corn exceeded market estimates and totaled 20.93 million tons ( 824 million bushels ) for the quarter ended September 1 .

The volume was published by the Department of Agriculture (USDA , acronym in English ) on the afternoon of Monday ( 30 / 09 ) . Market analysts projected a volume of around 17.48 million tons ( 688 million bushels ) for the period . The same period in 2012 , however , fell by 17 % .

Already soybean stocks totaled 3.84 million tons ( 141 million bushels ) on September 1 , according to the USDA . The volume also exceeded market expectations , which stood at 3.43 million tons ( 126 million bushels ) .

Despite being above expectations , the stocks of soybeans are also at levels 17 % lower than those recorded in the same same period 2012.

Wheat stocks totaled 50.34 million tons , a volume 12 % lower than recorded in the same period of 2012.

The USDA also released the follow-up of crops , with the update of the numbers of U.S. crop harvest . The data refer to last week .

The harvested area of corn increased from 7 % to 12 % . Well below the same period last year , when I was in 52 % of the total. And 63 % of the cereal crops reached maturity, also below the same period in 2012 ( 93 % ) .

Yet according to the U.S. government , the corn considered excellent from 13% to 14% of the total. Already the very good dropped from 42% to 41 % . Indicators were kept very bad areas ( 5 % ) , poor ( 11 % ) and regular ( 29 % ) .

In soybean crop increasing from 3 % to 11% of the total area . Just as in corn , the work goes backward compared to last year , when the harvesters had passed by 39 % of the crops .

Planting conditions improved, according to figures from the USDA . The areas considered excellent increased from 9 % to 10 % and good and 41 % to 43 % of the total.

On the other hand , the areas considered very poor dropped from 5 % to 4 %, the bad from 12% to 11% and the regular 33 % to 32 % of the total.
