Corn crop reaches 73 % of the crop in the United States

In soybean harvested area represents 86 % of total

The harvest of U.S. corn accelerated in the last week and jumped more than 14 percentage points , according to data released by the Department of Agriculture (USDA , its acronym in English ) . The research abrange18 producing states .

According to the weekly report tracking crops , 73 % of the planned area has been harvested . The previous week was 59 % . The percentage is still below that recorded by the U.S. government in the same period last year ( 95 % ) , but it exceeds the average of the period between 2008 and 2012 .

The soybean harvest has advanced in the last week, but at a slower pace . According to the USDA , the area until last week reached 86 % of the total. The previous week was 77 % .

Just like the corn, the percentage of area harvested soybeans is still below the same period last year ( 92 % ) , but above the average for the period between 2008 and 2012 ( 85 % ) .
