Exports still recorded fall in the year

Sales of agricultural machinery in the domestic market increased 26.5% in the period from January to August compared with the same period last year. The information was released on Thursday (5/9) by the National Association of Vehicle Manufacturers (Anfavea).
In the first eight months, 56,551 units were sold. In the same period in 2012 were 44,740. The number considers tractors, combines, planters and backhoes. Only in August, sales were 7.8 million units, up 2.6% from July and 17.6% compared to August last year.
By segment, the harvesters had higher sales growth in August. The 550 units sold represented an increase of 32.9% compared to August last year. The worst performance occurred in the same comparison with the planters, which fell by 16.7% with sales of 140 units.
Exports in August rose 39% compared to August 2012, from 1.140000 to 1585 units. But the result did not prevent a closing negative from January to August. The overseas sales fell 9.5%. 9952 units were shipped. In the first eight months of 2012 were 10 995.
The production of agricultural machinery registers 18.1% growth from January to August this year. 67,127 units were manufactured. In the same period in 2012 was 56 859. In August this year compared with the same month last year, the growth is 22.4%, from 7538 units produced for 9227.
