Representatives of the government of Lesotho will be in Brazil to 5/ 9 for public policies aimed at strengthening family agriculture . A delegation from the African country , led by its Minister of Education , Makabelo Mosothoane , was in the National Supply Company ( Conab ) this week in order to learn about the experiences in the area of food security in Brazil . During the meeting , the group met details on the implementation of policies pursued by the government to market household production , such as the Food Acquisition Program ( PAA ) and Policy of Guaranteed Minimum Price .

" The PAA serves the social assistance network , such as nursing homes , day care centers , and hospitals as well as public facilities , which are communal kitchens , soup kitchens , food banks , among others ," says the superintendent of Support for Family Agriculture , Kelma Cruz . " The program is effective because it guarantees income to small farmers through the purchase of food from family farmers , and thus contributes to the formation of government stocks and also allows the donation of products for people suffering from food insecurity and nutrition , attended by local social programs . "

The delegation of Lesotho continues its journey to the Holy Spirit in order to meet other Brazilian experiences in the field of school meals . The mission is organized by the International Centre of Excellence Against Hunger World Food Programme of the United Nations ( UN) , in conjunction with the Brazilian Cooperation Agency and the National Fund for Education Development ( ENDF ) .
