Alliance for Marine Conservation

Campaigns, scientific studies, data collection and training courses summarize the range of actions taken by the Alliance for the Conservation of Marine and Coastal Ecosystems Associated Atlantic. Launched in 2008, is an expansion of the partnership that Conservation International (CI) and SOS Mata Atlântica already consolidated in the area of ​​Atlantic Forest, now in favor of the study and protection of the Brazilian coast.

The Alliance is responsible for different actions as the course of monitoring of biodiversity and fisheries Marine Conservations Units; project "PSA Marine: Planning a System of Payment for Environmental Services in the Marine Extractive Reserve Corumbau, Southern Bahia" initiated in 2011 with funding from FUNBIO, and the Workshop on "Certification of Fisheries in Abrolhos Bank," also in 2011, Sailing Ships (BA), to strengthen the fisheries market.

In 2010, the Alliance has also launched major publication on key areas for marine biodiversity Brazilian, lifting the 59 endangered species in several regions of Brazil, and to map eight priority ecoregions for marine and coastal conservation.
