Planted eight years ago, the three feet of plum in my father's house have never produced a fruit even though they all show very flowery. Why could not some production today? What my father should do to solve the problem?

Environmental factors, genetic and nutritional deficiency may contribute to the non fruiting fruit. In the case of plum, there is still the possibility of problems related to the process of pollination. When has autoestéreis flowers, the plant requires cross-pollination to fruit. For this it is necessary that at least two different varieties planted at the site, but with blooms occur coincident fertilization of flowers. One suggestion is to get at least one plant of the group of varieties that have a characteristically moderate self-fertility, Cultivars kelsey Paulo, Reubennel, Methley, harry Pickstone pink and mining. Remember that the seedlings should always be bought from reputable nurseries and with reference, to ensure the quality of the plants.
