Known nationally as a major producer of tropical fruits , Rio Grande do Norte accounts for more than half of the Brazilian melon , as reports the Sebrae News Agency . The umbu could be an alternative throughout the semi-arid region . But the coastline is suitable for the cultivation of mangaba .
