Syria allows consumption of cat meat , dog and donkey to fight hunger

Pets can only be eaten if they are dead ; slaughter is still prohibited

Ravaged by civil war and famine relief , Syria this week authorized the population eat meat dogs , cats and donkeys to escape hunger , according an article published on Wednesday ( 16/10 ) in the O Globo newspaper. The religious orientation allows animals to be eaten if they are dead, and prohibited the slaughter in order to cook them .
