The planting of soybeans in Brazil started late for the harvest 2013/2014 . The information was released on Monday ( 7/10 ) by consultancy Safras and Mercado. According to the company , until last Friday ( 4/10 ) , 2.8% of the projected area for the new crop had been planted .

" The works are more advanced in Paraná , where 12 % of the area is already sown , against an average of 6.4 % . In Mato Grosso , the planting is 2 % , against an average of 3.4 % , "the statement of advice .

In Paraná , the advance is greater , according to Safras and Mercado, because soil moisture is recomposed by the rains in the last week of September and at the beginning of October. In the central region of the country , is still partial and irregular and standardization of soil moisture is expected for the second half of this month .

In the case of Southeast rains are now coming more regularly and cultivation should begin as early as the 15th . And in the North and Northeast farmers still await the start of the rains to begin the work .
